92 Z34 5 speed throwing a code...

Hi. My 92 Z34 5 speed is throwing code 39. This is what GM defines this code as,

"39 Transaxle clutch switch has failed 4 consecutive times. Vehicle was at normal operating temperature and the speed went from 0 to 40 MPH or more and back to 0 again."

What does this mean in 17 year old talk? My understanding from this is that the car went from 0-40 and then stopped? Isn't this just daily driving? I know Ben wanted the Chip code # for something and i plan on looking at it tomorrow, i havent done it yet because of the real nasty weather we had earlier this week. The car runs fine though. I reset the computer two days ago to see if the code would go away and it did untill i drove around town for a few days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

well from what it soulds like it means the car went from 0-40-0 without clutch movement, mostlikley because the switch is bad. id replace it and go from there. they are only 20 bucks anyways. but i may be completely wrong too.

Yup, sounds like the clutch switch went bad. Just pick up a new one and install. It's on the clutch pedal assembly..
