  • Car turns over but wont start

    New rebuild, again.

    Oil pressure ok.
Cranks over but but wont start.
    Fuel pressure seems ok.
    Spark on all wires.
    Sparkplug wires in right locations

The car acts as if not timed right, but I am sure it is.

My thoughts are that I spliced the crank sensor wires and it may be fouling things up.

    Any other thoughts?

The 95 cutlass is doing the same, though it acted like it wanted to fire for a bit. The injectors are the problem on mine I think. Tons of fuel and I know it was getting spark. Im going to pull the rail and see if fuel leaks out when I pressurize it. Otherwise I got weak coils.

Check your fuel pressure after you turn the key off, and check the plugs after you crank it and see if you can see/smell fuel.

        She is now officially running!!!!!!!!!!!!

        Damn registration expired DEC 2003.

        I am so frigging happy.

Turns out that when I replaced a connector on the 3x crank sensor wire to the ignition module the wires were mixed.
The fucking GM book says purple A and white C, well that was WRONG.

I had never built anything like this before.....

FYI, the motor should run with the CPS wires swapped, but something happens at higher RPM and it will no longer generate a proper signal. A guy on another forum was chasing that problem for over a year.. switched around the CPS wires and it was all better.
