T-47? T-50? What's the name of this part?

I was wondering if anyone new the part# or name of part#163 and what size bolts hold it and the rest of the timing cover in place. I tried T-50 which only stripped one of the bolts (dumbass me). I know that the timing belt idler pullies use a T-50, but what about the bolts that hold the timing chain cover in place? Are they T-50 too? I know it cant be T-55 because that is too big, so what size are they? THanks in advance@!

They are the same size torx as the others. Its the tensioner bracket hold down bolt to the head. Not sure of any other term for it.

I can give you the sizes tomorrow if I can and the Part #. GM calls that piece "Secondary Timing Belt Tensioner Bracket".

Those Torx bolts are on VERY tight if they have never been removed yet. Make sure there is NO DIRT in the Torx Bolt Head and that it is in all the way.

If you get stuck, you can always weld a nut onto the end of it and hammer away at it with an impact gun.

Torx bolts are SO stupid for heavy fastening.

If you aren't up to welding, the only advice I can give you is to put a couple of small squares of aluminum foil around the bit, drive it as deep as it'll go into the bolt, the wrench it off.

And the final fix for stripped torx is to use *shudder* easy-outs.

You'll need a cobalt bit to dig into the bolt.

AND Yes the Torx Size is T-50.
