  • hey... where'd all the walkthrough's go?

I'm looking for the alternator one specifically, but they've seemed to have disappared since the site has been changed. Anyway yeah, i don't imagine the alternator is very hard, except for that rear bolt that everoyne seems to be complaining aobut, but i just want some pictures to look at so i can get my bearings.

And oh yeah, would it be better to get a factory GM alternator, or go to autozone and get one of theirs or what? I don't want to have to fix this damn thing any more than absolutley neccesary.

We are still in the process of trying to get everything back up. But since you mentioned it so nicely...

    Hope this helps!

      Ah thanks for the writeup.

Unfortuantley, it was too late... my battery fianlly gave out on my way to work today. $600 bucks out of my pocket (and that's WITH employee discount), but meh. I figured my boss wouldn't be too happy if i tied up a lift ALL DAY. It took the GM tech from 10 am to 4pm to do my alternator, and that's with the 'easy' way of dropping the front subframe. Not to mention, the bracket was broken, bolt heads stripped, the air duct to cool the thing missing, and i needed a tensioner anyway. So, sorry GM dude that lost his shirt working on my car.... just glad it wasnt me
