  • Engine acting up..

Hey guys/girls.. havent been on here in forever.. but anyway i got a 95 3.4dohc and it sometimes rev's up to about 3000 rpm's in park at idel..

Then the other day I was going down the express way going 70mph and the engine light came on started reving up real hgh to about 3500, then reved back down and started dieing out.. then it started driving fine agan and engine light went off..

Today I tried to start it and it wouldnt start it turned over fine but would'nt start untill I put the gas peddle to the floor, then it would start ..

I think it might be a mass air flow sensor or something.... help me out plz...
engine light doesnt come on..so cant take it to go get read..

Have the codes pulled. Even though the light is off, the codes are still there until something like 50 cycles.

Does a map make drastic rpm changes? I doubt it, then why would a maf...

            You may have manifold leaks.

Sounds like the tps was not the real problem in your case.

well, I don't really know what to tell you... It cost money to keep anything up....It may just be a simple fuel pressure regulator.
