  • Most Difficult Proceedure for You

Just like it says, if you add in reply I will add options.

Maybe we can turn this into a "tips" thread.

For me right now the most difficult is the wiring harness
It is so ridgid and must be routed so damn perfectly and the proceedure usually involves getting your hands into places you can't see.

I dunno, probably the bottom end cause you gotta pull the motor out to do any of that. Power steering lines are up there cause its a pain to route the return line.

I figure that removal of the engine is a process and bottom end a different process.

Bottom end is hard b/c I don't have the torque angle thingey, but once the engine was disassembled to that point it wasn't that hard.

I just found out tonight that the rear strut and springs are a cake walk to replace.

Still trying to find out why I don't have spark.....Damn electical.

O2 sensor is a bitch to change with engine in car.

Try and replace the heater core water return line...That one that goes all the way around about half the engine to the water pump. That is a pain. The most fustrating this to me was that spring clamp, it came off with struggle but the hose was super bonded to the connection. The o2 is cake to that.

Alts arn't a walk in the park with bottom mount, but I rather do that over the water line. Plus replacing the alt gives you a list of things that you can replace if they are worn.

I choose bottom end, to me it was a endless fustrating mess from he11, but oddly enjoyed it.

That coolant line is a breeze with the cam carrier off:P You can then take off the alt pretty easily. Sure, not everyone wants to do that for a stupid line but hell, it still beats pulling the motor!

I think the hardest part is paying for the parts, everything else is easy.

Considering I can pull my whole drivetrain in 90 minutes, I'm not voting for bottom end. Though I may want to write in Crank Position Sensor at the moment. Automatic transmissions suck!
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

I can re-wire color for color re-pin and re-loom just about any factory harness in a day, it all depends on if I have the pins and wire color or not.
