  • Lifters?

ok now i know i need a lifter but i dont know which one , all i know is that it is in the back cam carrier, now i priced out lifters at work, i work at a gm dealership , and the one guy in parts told me that it is $25 for 8 of them at my cost, but i think that is way to cheap, he is gonna ask the manager tommorow and make sure it isnt $25 each minimum 8. does this sound to cheap to anybody? my price is cost plus 10%. also i have 3 spare 3.4L DOHC motors laying around, should i just take them out of a spare motor ? but the spare motors all have high mileage on them. and my lifter noise is intermittent is doesnt do it all the time but when it does it is pretty loud. thanks

    RE: Lifters?

I doubt they are 25 for 8. They are sold in packs of 8, so your best bet is to either get 8 of them, or just go get a quad 4 lifter from autozone or whatever. They are within 2 grams of stockers, though I believe the hydraulic part will have more give to it, which isn't great. Hard to tell with used/high milage lifters too. may be fine, may be worse. If you can't get just 1 and you don't wanna spend a lot of money, get a quad 4 lifter and be done with it.
