    Hey All,

My GTP is of the 1995 variety and I'm having problems. The car idles horribly and stumbles at start. I have replaced upper and lower intake gaskets, IAC, coils, ICM, O2, plug wires, coolant temp sensor, plugs. I cleaned the EGR as well. I've checked all the vaccuum lines and they seem to be good. When the car is revved up it stumbles a little unitl higher RPM's but it has problems returning to lower engine speeds. (It stays revved up and tries to keep climbing). It seems there is a hissing by the EGR but I'm not real familiar with this car so I don't know what is the norm. I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

    RE: Problems

I think there's some kind of vacuum line that runs back there, maybe its cracked. At least there is on my wife's 3.4 Euro Sedan.

That would explain the hissing. Try covering the intake with it running (take off the air box). If it speeds up, it's definitely a vacuum leak.

    Hope this helps!-Good luck.

Yes I put new gaskets on. I checked the PVC line and it looks fine. I am leaning toward a bad injector. The car kinda smells like gas at startup. Is there compatible injectors from different cars or are we stuck with just whats on it? I'm trying to find a cheap set.

You can send yours in to witch hunter and he will clean and rebuild yours. He will also match them for their output. Something that GM apparently doesn't do. The guys here that have done it, loved it. Also reletively inexpensive aswell. Here is the adress.

an intake leak will cause the engine to run rich. an easy way to test for vac leak is buy some starting spray and test spray it around the intake (or EGR) to test for leaks. if the idle changes when spraying that is your leak!
