  • 3.4 engine rev limiter

Is there some sort of rev limiter on these engines when in neutral? I rev it up and it won't go beyond 3,000.

yes there is. I believe it is 2500, may be 3000 but a chip mod from 60degreev6 can change this and the speed governor.

Is there a reason to rev beyond 3000 in neutral? Besides to be cool...

THAT'S odd. I have a limiter at 4 Grand in Park, and no Limiter in neutral, with a completely stock PCM. No joke, it was owned by an old lady before me, and she left everythign stock.
