Just got my new engine put in and im getting a P0300 which is a random misfire in all cylinders... so its time to put in some ac delco rapidfires, but i dont want the stock heat range plugs, id really like to get a degree colder plug to help KR with my mods... stock part number for 96-97 DOHC is #12 right? so #9 r a degree colder right? thanks

RE: Plugs
Hello
Delete the PCM codes and try again.
If the engine didn't run perfect after starting up again you will get a random missfire code.
OBD II sences the accereration speed of the crankshaft after each ignition event and will set a code if they are not evenly spaced.
When OBD II was first intoduced it would set a random misfire code if your vehicle was being driven on a wash board road with the torque converter clutch locked up, because of the tires having un-even rotational speeds, that would back feed through the transmission to the crankshaft and cause rotational fluxuations because of the locked up torque converter, if the torque converter was un-locked no code would set.
OBD II is very critical of the crankshaft acceleration rate from each of the cylinders power pulses during rotation.
Hope this Helps
John
P.S.
I also have a 97 Monte Z34
