I figured out why my Monte was stalling, a few taps on the comp. with a piece of wood and it dies. Took the Hypertech chip out and just ran the orig. chip and you could hit it with a hammer and it won't die, not that I tried it. Not much to the chip, maybe a cracked solder joint, not sure. I have emails into Hypertech and the place I bought it, I'm sure I'm $hit out of luck and won't see any restitution. I don't want to take that therm. back out and put a 195 back in, I'm sure you all know what a pain that is. Does anyone know if there is a quality chip that will last and run with a 180 degree thermostat around and how much they are? Thanks. Dan.

Im still working on mine, but for limiters and fan stuff, I am done. I wish I knew when I would be done but its a matter of getting the rest of the code so I can do everything that needs to be done and I don't want to sell a chip that is half done. I don't know of anyone else getting positive results on a dyno with the 94-95 DOHC chips yet either which sucks for everyone wanting a chip right now.Ben

Yeah Sappy, I'd be happy with one that just lets me run the 180 therm. Sure some performance gains would be nice but I'm more worried about the temp. It was always fine on the highway but city driving, it would usually go past half way which I'm guessing is over 210, not sure exactly what the temp. is with the shitty guages in these cars. Personally I think every car should have an oil pressure and volt guage along with the rest. The car did run at a constant temp. with the Hypertech chip, I guess it was 180, needle never moved whether in the city or on the highway which was nice. I was always used to the needle moving back and forth and back and forth. Not sure what to do, might have to rip that damn plenumn off again and put a 195 back in and leave the orig. chip in.
