  • ALternator harness / Engine runs poor

    Have any of you guys installed the Delco-Remy CS-130 type, 170 Amp "Iceberg" Alternator.?? I've just purchased it and was wondering if the harness connector is the same.

    I'd also like to change the oxygen sensor while I have access to the 'rear' of the 3.4; does anyone know where it's located on the exhaust??

    I've already changed out the knock sensor in the hopes it will fix the ignition problem I'm having.

    It wouldn't start one day new Crank sensor got it running but now the engine has - no power, won't rev over 3200 RPM without knocking and backfiring, Bogs, misses and knocks under throttle,

    Parts replaced in last month::

    Idle Air Control Valve
    New Plug Wires
    New MSD Coils
    New Ignition Module
    switched computer from 92 Lumina Z34
    New fuel Filter
    New Crank Sensor
    Removed plenum and lower intake installed new gaskets to rule out vac leak
    New Knock Sensor (haven't started since I put this in)

    Oxygen sensor is located on the rear manifold, on top, next to the EGR tube.

      If its on top of the exhaust manifold how easy is it to get a wrench or socket on to it?? I hope the plenum doesn't have to come off to get it out. I just had it off ...

        Go at it from the bottom with a stubby wrench .. have fun with it

        I think I tryd a socket with plenum and crap on, and socket was hitting firewall ..

        Good luck
