Sorry to be a pain in the ass with all these questions, but after forking out a mighty fuckload of cash in the process of rebuilding my motor, I want it to be as best as I can get it for my budget. I'm going to start assembling today, and I'll put up a build thread for you guys.
Same 91' motor with 96' pistons, and fully rebuilt. Machinist said that the main bolts should be fine to reuse, and that as long as they torque fine (which he did to line bore the block), they're good. I also notice that of all the bolts available to buy (head bolts, rod bolts), that the Mains are the one bolt that I don't really see for sale anywhere, hinting that maybe they're not common replacement items? My rods are already rebuilt and fitted with ARP hardware, so I'm good to go there.
the only thing that makes me wonder, is that the torque specs are something along the lines of XX Ft/lbs + 75 degrees of torque. Does this mean that they're torque to yield? Already yielded bolts are baaad. So should I just reuse mine, or is it recommended to change em, and where do I get new ones if I change them? Thanks guys!
