  • EGR valve code WONT GO AWAY!

Ok , i have i had a code 32 for quite somtimes , so today i replaced the EGR valve (cough:::145$:::cough)... Well the code went away, i also reset the computer with my scanner. Well im driving home today and the code comes back , how can a brand new EGR set a code 32?!?!..im confused what else could set this code. Could carbon build up in the EGR porting on the intake be bad?!

Check the EGR power wire... I had to go through the same crap with my car. Turned out the power wire was bad so I had to rewire the stupid thing, it was a real pain in the ass. I also wasted about $170 on a new EGR valve that I don't think I even needed.

after you fix the EGR, you need to find out why your car is cutting so much fuel all the time. 108 BLM with 145 INT means your BLM would still be below 128 if the INT was 128. Vacuum leaks will do that, or bad O2, or leaking EGR. Id check the gasket, and clean out the EGR passage in the plenum.

What do u meaning cutting so much fuel , u mean in running rich or lean?!

Also the only time my EGR light comes on is when i drive LONG periods of time.
Whats the easiest way to clean the EGR passage? Pipe cleaner or carb cleaner? Or Both.

The EGR only comes on under cruise conditions to increase fuel economy, thats why it only comes on when you drive "long periods of time".

I just took off the upper intake manifold .. the way it bends .. cant do much with it on .. and used some carb cleaner and a screwdriver to get majority ..

Huh? Doesnt it come on all the time? Sorry for bringing up old post. But I thought the EGR is always on under different loads ?

              Thanks,

The EGR does not open under WOT. So no, it doesn't come on all the time.
