The gasket with the proper torque should work quite well. Just make sure the gasket surfaces are clean before you bolt it up.

Found coolant in the oil and metal in the filter.
Also found a home in the engine compartment for a turbo and intercooler

I always used the blue non-hardening gasket sealant thats designed specificly for coolant gaskets.. I love the stuff - never had a leak since i started using it on cars 5 years ago
