Like the title says . . . I want to powder coat the upper intake on my 1992 motor. I've removed the swaged spots and they're still not moving. Anyone here ever get them out?

Once you grind off the "nibs" that hold the bearings in, you can take a 1/4" socket extension and gently tap on the bearings from the inside of the TB to get them out.
Work in a circular motion as much as you can, though with the TB getting in the way, it's hard to do evenly.
I've only done this on the 3100, 3400, and 2.4L throttlebodies, but those have all been the same.Franz

I put the socket extension in from the back of the TB butterfly hole and tap on the bearing on an angle. It's the only way I've figured how to do it.
Good luck man!Franz

Possibly, but I'd almost think the bearings would expand more because the aluminum housing would dissipate heat faster than the steel of the outer bearing surfaces.Franz

Make a simple slide hammer out of 1/4" all thread. Or..Use the all thread to draw it out. Put large washers on the outside and support the inside with smaller washers. I used the slide hammer on mine. Remember to stake it when you reinstall. Don't heat! Aluminum hates that..If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.
