  • 02 sensor replacment?

how hard is it to replace the first or pre cat 02 sensor?
Is it gonan be a pain in the ass or fairly easy?
And is it worth the at 86k miles?
Car has had blown head gaskets at one time, if that matters

I own a 95 3.4l DOHC Cutlass, assuming that your 94 GTP is identical for sensor placement you can get at the O2 sensor from underneath or above. It is in a tight ass area in the upper exaust area, as the exaust slopes down from the engine to the cat/con. You can see it positioned on the upper portion of the exaust as it flows from the engine between the engine and firewall.
With the plenum off you should be able to have enough room to access the 02 sensor from the top with an O2 socket/wrench, it will be tight. Or you can attempt it from underneath (also tight). Quick tip the car should run for at least two-three minutes before removal, to prevent damage on the threads. Also use an anti sieze compound on the threads on the sensor you replace.
Oh ya nothing is simple with the 3.4L dohc, with acception to the first three sparkplugs. Removing an O2 sensor is not hard, its the getting to it first, that is!!!
Good Luck; let me know how you made out Bro.
