  • Oxygen sensor replacement in 3.4L 95 Cutlass.

I want to replace my upstream oxygen sensor in my 95 3.4L Cutlass. I noticed that the sensor is in a very condensed & tight area in the upper exaust system. Is there a method that anyone has used to make this replacement easier? Also is there a downstream sensor? Note, upstream sensor has a four wire connector, (OBD 1) ? This site is A-1 Quality!!!

RE: Oxygen sensor replacement in 3.4L 95 Cutlass, need help.

Well, I didn't have the special tool at the time I wanted to change the O2, so I ended up pulling the engine. The tool is basically an offset socket, you can probably ebay it. My 95 MC was actually built in late 94, so it doesn't have a downstream O2. You could check I think close to the cat.

I actually pulled the engine to rebuild it, not just for the O2.
