  • Oil light on for Split second

Need your opinion guys, I have a 95 z-34 that runs great, 120,000 miles on it, I noticed when I pulled in the drive way tonight that after I put the car in park and was about to shut it off the oil light flashed on for a split second. I gave it gas to see if it would do it again but it did not. I have not checked the oil level, I'm getting the oil changed Saturday and I'll watch it but I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Oil presser sending unit? Thanks,

My mother's car did this a long time ago, it ended up being the oil presure sending unit on the way out.

I noticed the car was leaking a very small amount of oil, didnt think much of it at the time, but when the oil pressure light started flashing on and off at lights with the brake on, I decided to do something about it.

Just as I bought the new one the one on the car started leaking like mad. After I put in the new one no more oil leak or erratic light.

For anyone interested it was the oil pressure sending unit. Oil had started to leak through the sending unit causing low pressure readings. Thanks, Jim
