3.4 up in smoke

I have a little bit of an emergency with the petty edition...

I went to start it, and it just kept cranking and not turning over... so it sounded like it had caught and was going to start, and it made a thud noise almost like a backfire, and smoke came pouring out of the airbox. I opened up the smoldering airbox and the filter is totally shot... and the car doesnt start either.

I dont know what to do... what do you guys think happened? Im hearing alot about the ICM being a problem from others.

Or crank position sensor, or wiring. Hope its not internal anyway.

It looks like is what happened is this: There is a fuel cutoff switch that is part of the secruity system which is basically fried, and even though i disarmed the car, the "fuel cutoff valve" or whatever never opened fully... so it wouldnt start. I still havent figured out why the airbox went up, though.

backfired through the throttle body?, can fuel injection do that??? cause that would be a timing issue/stuck valve i would think...
