  • Problem with Rev limiter kicking in while driving.

While our cars are working correctly - when you have the car in park and you try to rev the engine a rev limiter kicks and the rpms bounce around a certain limited point.

This is happening under normal driving circumstances at a much lower rpm than it should. And it only happens under modest acceleration.

Has anyone run into this problem and is aware of what it is or how to fix it. Or even where to start looking.
    Thanks for any help

Im pretty sure its a mechanical issue, not the ecm. Hard to say what exactly, could be fuel pump or filter starving teh engine for fuel, or the plugs/wires.

          sappy is probably right
but i had a thought for a second that the ecm might be getting a bad signal and think you are revving higher than you are
