gasket/idle question

when replacing the plenum, tb neck and tb gaskets on a 96 intake, should I use any liquid gasket or rtv to get a seal?

next when i start my car it idles up to about 3-3500k and then dies any suggestions on the cause? (no codes from the scanner either)

You shouldn't have to use anything except the gaskets...

ok just making sure on the gaskets. a little more info on the idle the tps seems normal, the IAC reads 90 steps when ign is on and 134 while it runs briefly be4 it dies.

Update: i found the problem it was a leak in the egr adapter tube.

it idles smooth but it gives a code now p1650 failure QDM2

the only thing i can think of is since the egr is bypassed for now could that be the cause of the code?

i hooked up the solenoid but it still gives the code. can the ecm detect whether or not the plenum is recieving exhaust gasses via o2 sensor readings?

hmmmm. Just wondering where the leak in/on the tube was?

it was a fix where the tube was cracked near the adapter plate. i looked at the boneyard today but no luck for a replacement. i checked the dealer 85 bucks fuck that.

the code is caused when i unplug the egr solenoid. when i fool the pcm into think egr is there when it is not it will spark knock for a few and even out to a smooth idle.

when i disconnect it the code comes up and the idle changes around. machine shop has it again when it gets back i will be straight. got my wires in too so i will take care of that sun or mon.
