I guess new GTO's look ricey because of their single sided exhaust outlets?
How can you say a single outlet exhaust is ricey? I think cars with big ass tips and big ass round mufflers hanging down, pointed outward because you can't make a decent looking dual exhaust on a rice car, looks ricey.
And have you ever heard an LQ1 with a single exhaust? I know I haven't, but I can assume due to more gases exiting through one pipe it would sound better.
Maybe I'll cut my Y-pipe and patch it, just to see how it sounds. Oh, and I'll post a sound-clip of my Magnaflows with no resonator (rasp-hell at start-up, nice after warm up). I'm gonna put in a 10" resonator pretty soon if I can't figure out what's causing the raspiness / rattling, it almost sounds like a heat-shield.

I just think duals look and sound better. Make sure you have a good cat. When he said go to single exhaust, I immediately get this coffee can idea. Strike the rice remark. Any good muffler shop should be able to put on a decent set of pipes and mufflers for 150 bucks. At least they do here. Or buy your mufflers wholesale. Keep an eye on E Bay also.

Alright thanks, really want to have a basic idea of how it will sound before i buy. so im basing the next 500 dollars(cdn) i spend, on your soundclip blk92z34getrag :P, just so theres pressure...
Single exhaust can look sweet, but i personally have always loved dual exhaust, on every car. As long as its not a folgers coffee can its sweet.
heres the tips i was talking about: mmm AMG tips warning... its huge

I personally hat emost of the tips people put on their Z34s. So I took the stock ones, polished them for an hour, and put them on, up about a half inch and out about an inch voer stock location. I really like how they look now too.
Those AMG ones look really good, but on a Benz. I don't think they'll look right on the Z34. Number 1 our cutouts aren't wide enough for them, so they'll have to hang down a bit in order to fit. And number 2, I don't think quad exits look good on the Z34s. On other cars yah, but not this.
those are pretty much what I have on my car, look on my cardomain to see them. I love the dual exit look on Z34's. ALSO make sure they weld the tips right to the mufflers, don't use some stupid pipe to route them up, the sound is much more powerful, at least, that was the case for me. They'll have to notch the lip under the bumper (on the inside edge under the car).

Ugh... so much pressure. I'll try and get a clip by the end of the day. Just have to figure out how.

2.5" Aluminized pipes, press-bent. Magnaflow Cat. New custom Y-pipe, 2.25" pipes after Y with 2.25" Magnaflow Straight-thru mufflers and tips welded right to the mufflers.
Does anyone know where I can get an exhuast? I think i need from the cat back becuase it is broke at the y and I need new mufflers. I don't want anything fancy just the normal Dual exhaust setup. How much are magnaflow mufflers? and I also need the other piece before that the shop said it was like 150 bucks?

Haha your right, those are basically what im looking for, could ya tell me what kind they are? And ya i agree, i absolutely love the way 4 pipes out the back look. And i too also love the stock tips, i have them polished up... like 2 hours of scrubbing. The one thing i personally think looks tacky on Z34's is straight pipe style tips out the back, it just doesn't suit the car i dont think. Its tuner-muscle, not a beasty muscle car.
I dont know how much you would expect to pay for magnaflow but if i buy it off a retailer here its like 200 bucks(cdn) for a universal, i can get the same muffler for ~75(cdn) on ebay or wholesalers. (thats probably including shipping too).
You got me excited when i saw the link haha, then it didn't work , thanks for recordin it, if you can't figure out how to get it on the net you can just email it to me.

Actually after looking at your cardomain site you have alot of the same ideas as me... I want chrome 5 spoke squareish rims 17-18, 4 pipes out the back, much stiffer and lower suspension etc. But to be honest i think those actually are the rims i wanted haha. Good to know my opinion on what looks good is shared.

I had some cool 2 pipe tips, but the Borla tips do more than just sound good. They are an important part of the system. I know you don't want to buy Borlas, I didn't and wouldn't have bought mine. They came as a deal. The chrome tips will soon be black and tucked in about 2 more inches. But, I still say,no matter what brand you go for, Keep the duals. They look cual.

Wow, that exhaust sounds mean. The recording isn't the greatest quality, but its good enough for me to want that exhaust . Thanks alot! A question tho, is it THAT loud at idle or is it just the location of the mic, cause at idle it sounds a little too harley davidson to me.
Thanks alot tho, after i get my 18's thats where my moneys goin .
