Got this code a few weeks ago and still havent figured it out yet. I know its a lean condition, guy at the auto store says bad O2. I know its not that, because the O2 is about a year old. Injectors came up as a possibility, fried O2 wires, and a vac leak. The wires look good on the O2, and I found what i thought to be 2 vac leaks, one at the EGR and one at the plastic thing on the left side of the plenum....where the FPR line is connected. I sealed both of those with RTV, but there still seems to be a leak. Intake manifold gaskets are also about a year old, but I have removed the plenum twice and changed out the lower intake once since then. All the gaskets checked out ok when I put it back together.

I can hear a leak....is it possible the head gasket could cause this? I know I had some really bad cooling issues in the past, and seem to have more of an oil leak than just the dist oring.

The exhaust is normal color, and ive sprayed Carb Cleaner everywhere looking for this bastard leak and cant find it. I checked all the lines and they all seem to look good. Are there any other vac lines under the plenum or behind the motor that I may be missing?

Have any other ideas of what could be going on?

I have reason to believe this is what is causing such a power loss in my motor...I pulled a best of 10.62@68mph in the 1/8 on friday

Also, when ideling, the rpms are up and down, and if it idles for more than a min or two, it kills itself.

Is a 10.62 that bad for a stock auto?

I know I was only running like mid 9s IIRC

Well, when my 0-60est time has dropped, and the other night on the freeway i lost to a 2 door grand am SE, im pretty sure there is some major shit wrong with my car. Dave ran high 9s, so im assuming with wieght differences i should be around 10, or 10.2.

      I also couldnt get my 60' under a 2.4

      For mods I have:
      FFP Dogbone
      FFP underdrive Pulley
Gasket matched upper and lower intakes
2.5" exhaust: high flow cat, 18" res, and 2 magnaflows
      K&N with chopped air box
      I think thats it

I also raced with 1/2 tank of gas.

I can't get my car better than a 2.3 60', so a 2.4 isn't that bad for an auto. You really need to get to a 1/4mi, that will help us tell a lot more.

check the pressed in plug beside the egr valve on the plenum

Iv'e seen them cracked there before on the casting seam.

            Heres an update:

Started up the car looking for the vac leak once again today. Noticed, that as the idle goes up and down, so does the coolant in the resevior. There isnt much in there, and i Just filled it last week, it moves up and down the plastic part the hose from the radiator connects too. I took of the cover to see how much was actually in there, and the engine died instantly. I put it back on, started the engine and it ran much worse, then it calmed down and idled like it has been. So, i pulled that cap again and the engine died within a few seconds.

So, with the coolant moving like it was, and the engine dieing like it did, do i have reason to believe headgasket?
