The ECM Cut's fuel if you pump it in an efi car...

Did you check your timing belt?

Is the crank position sensor good, or the wiring from it? Cam timing could be it as well, or leaking injectors. Pumping the plate doesn't do anything for you so I dunno why that would help. Maybe you have a bad TPS?

My coolant temp. sensor broke (my fault when changing intake gaskets) and the car still started and ran. It didn't run as smooth, or start as easy as normal, but it still started and ran ok.

But how many miles was put on the car since then? A belt can still look good and be bad. The one on the 91 that shredded looked somewhat decent from up top, but was shredded to peices where it wrapped around the dummy cam pulley.

maybe 8-10,000 problem started out as the car was lacking alot of power when i gave it alot of gas the car would get up and get going but now only stays started for a second or 2

sounds similar to the problem I had with my Z34 when I first bought it, there was actually a coil pack busted, does your car stink of gas? As for your issue with the high throttle power loss, check out my post about halfway down this page, I also had the same problem with my car, turns out it was just regular maintanance work - with the plugs, wires, PCV valve, O2 sensor, fuel filter, air filter, could be any of those things really. I noticed with my car that when I was pushing high throttle, it felt like the engine was responding to the pressure, but it just wasn't picking up, are you experiencing the same thing?
