OK, I'm not new to the Lumina Z34. In fact, I just bought my 3rd one, a 92(rip), then a 93, now a 91. That first tune up is always a bear but is it me or is the engine bay smaller, more crowded in the 91? I need to change out the coils and maybe the module but there's like no room. The fans are too big to come out, AC lines are in the way, the starter ground covers the coil mounting screws and the harness. Is there another way other than pulling starter, exhaust manifold and AC lines?

Pull the radiator fans iut, only a few bolts, and the starter ground wires, then undo the coils from under the car. Its tight but do able. Thats how I did mine. And watch the header heat sheald its sharp as @&#! -
That's what I did on my other 2 but this one, whole other story. As I mentioned the fan seems to be thicker and won't fit past the valve cover. Its really f-in cold here (Chicago) and fighting with this is no fun. As far as removing the ground, the close quarters makes that a rough job too. That's why I started out with the question about being a smaller bay.Comment

I did mine on a cutlass so not sure if the z has a smaller engine bay or not. It was a pain either way. I will be relocating.my icm and.coil pack this spring to the top of the motor.Comment

I wanna do the same on both of mine cause saying it's a pain is an understatement! Plus that location makes NO sense. I think I read somewhere there may be an issue with voltage impedance if the lines aren't twisted the right way. That's what prevented me from doing it before.Comment
