I have a 1996 Chevy Corsica 3.1, and the temp gauge is not working, it was until I changed the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets, the Coolant temp sensor is new, I checked the wiring from the sensor to the harness connection near the alternator, all three wires had continuity. I am out of ideas. Thanks

How many temp sensors does that vehicle have?
Wouldn't surprise me to find that there's one to supply the computer with data, and another one to drive the gauge on the dash. Maybe one of them (for the gauge) isn't connected?^ some people may call this guy an asshole at times, but he isn't wrong very often -- Robert

96 has only one three wire sensor over by the TB. If the harness has continuity from the sensor to the plug by the alternator then I'd start with replacing the sensor.
