  • Vacuum Lines

I have a 92 Z34. Obviously with a 22 year old car, parts ageing is gonna be an issue. One of my more obvious issues are the vacuum lines, especially to the cruise control. I plan on replacing all of them, but my question is does it matter if the lines are all OE size and if so does somebody have a list of the correct ID of each section?j

Going larger won't hurt; going smaller could.

I don't know of any size listing beyond a parts book for the appropriate year--and even that might not have the ID size, just a part number.

Can't be that hard to match replacement hose to the existing stuff; or to the vacuum nipples on the equipment it connects to. When the hard plastic tubing cracks, I just install a "splice" of vacuum hose where it broke. I save the main part of the original tubing that way.

Thanks, that's what I kinda thought. I've had real issues with the cruise control module and with the plastic tubing. That's what really triggered my need to do the repair. I was kinda worried that the wrong sizes in the wrong area might cause some type of void if too large or starvation if too small. I also like to be prepared- nothing is worse than having to stop in the middle of a job to run for a oops, I forgot part.
