I want to replace the CPS on my 1991 GTP, DOHC 3.4. What is required? The shop manual does not say much; I took a look and there is so much stuff that I cannot even see it.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

There is 1 small (I think 7 or 8 mm) bolt retaining it to the block, just above the oil pan on the 1-3-5 side of the motor. If you have the 4t60e the large intermediate shaft housing may be blocking your view of it. If you have the getrag then it's staring you in the face and nothing is blocking it.

I got the 4T60E and it looks like I will need some baby hands to get access to it. Any easy way to change the CPS?

      Thanks.

I dunno sorry. I've never had a 4t60e in my way (except when they're in front of me on the freeway :P )

Maybe take out the alternator and get at it that way (this is the way I did the knock sensor on the 91 pre the 5 speed).

I had to remove my alternator to even see the CPS... good luck 1 8mm bolt..make sure not to break the o-ring on the sensor... amazing how bad it can leak.

How's that RSM plenum I sent working out - by the way its August... creeping up on what a month and a half now that you still owe me a core plenum? People like you who don't hold up their end of a deal shouldn't even be allowed on the message board. Your'e a real class act.

Replacing the throttle plate that holds the throttle cable n kickdown and fixing a stripped EGR whole wasnt part of the deal either. I asked u if there was anything wrong and you stated no. So... if you want your plenum ill ship when i want to just for the agrivation of having to fix that. If you want have be band from the site do so w/e makes you happy, but bring this up in topics is rediculous no wants to read this so stop acting childish.

Well, this seems to be the only way I could communicate with you since you refuse to answer any of my PMs or aol IMs. I told you beforehand that the throttle bracket and any brackets that would normally be on the plenum would not be included and that you would have to transfer it from you own plenum. I never had an issue with any stripped threads on the plenum so I find it hard to believe that there is one unless you stripped it. On top of all of this are 2 facts. 1.) You NEVER notified me that you had any problems with the plenum, and I made MANY attempts to contact you after you recieved it. 2.) After repeatedly asking you where the core plenum was you told me you had shipped it. When in fact you did not - confirmed by your previous post, thats one lie you made that I have proof because I still have that PM. After that point, when the plenum never showed you refused to respond to any contact - that is incriminating in itself. I looked that plenum over very well before I shipped it. It just seems like your lies are stacking up. I'm sorry I had to bring this up in an unrelated post, but like I said you refuse to communicate by any other means.

I apologize again to the members of the board that are not involved and interested in the true content of this thread, but this was the only means by which I could get any response from this member.
