  • Bonding Plastics

Well I finally lucked out and found a rear license plate assembly for my Z34 but a section of it is broken but I found that piece. Any one have any suggestions on bonding those two pieces back together? First time I've even seen one in this good of condition. Looks like someone had just bought it before junking the car and some idiot didn't know how to take it off. Anyway, bonding plastics seem to depend mostly on what kind of plastic. Is this ABS or what?

I think most plastic in the car is ABS. I know for the lower section of the air splitter on the front bumper I used ABS pipe cement (the black stuff you can get at any hardware/home improvement store) to glue it back together.

3m makes a product "8223". Used it many times to repair all kinds of plastic.
