i got a rad from a 91 z34 today from the junkyard for my 94 z-34 and i noticed a slight difference from my old rad. this one has a small external tranny cooler as well as the one built into the rad. why is this? is the 91 rad not as efficient as the 94 and requires another tranny cooler? now for the interchange. i can't remember how the lines are organized. like on the rad there are 2 ports 1 top port and one bottom port same for the wafer cooler. if i had to guess i would say that the input for each is on the top and the output on the bottom ports(based on the logic of downflow).
my guess would be this:
tranny out-rad top port-rad bottom port-ext top port-ext bottom port-tranny in.
or vice versa
tranny out-ext top port-ext bottom port-rad top port-rad bottom port-tranny in.
but then again the coolant flow is up ex.(engine coolant out-rad bottom big hose-rad top big hose-engine coolant in)
im stumped.
