i have 5speed, it runs good but it stall at every light whether in nuetral or in gear with cluth in, i replaced the fuel pump, but still stalls and it seems like it starving, the fuel filter is new and i checked the lines to the fpr. any other ideas of what it could be?

It is generally conceived to be the fuel injectors. I have a 5-speed, and mine does it as well. I replaced the IAC and all my vacuum lines and it helped A LOT, but it will still die on occasion, wheras it used to do it at every light. I've heard the 96-97 injectors will fix this, I haev a set, but have yet to put them in.

My advice-Get new injectors, you can find 96-97 ones around, and they are a lot quieter according to pocket rocket.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets. Years back I also had the same stalling problem (91 5 speed). Replacing the gaskets solved the problem.... I'm using 97 injectors now but that is only because my 91 injectors were leaking down. I didn't notice any difference with how it ran with the newer injectors (they were not the solution to stalling for me) but they do not have that loud tick like the 91 injectors did.

all new gaskets motor was rebuilt, took the car out today , ran better stalled a few times, seems to lack power, does the fpr give more fuel pressure with less vacume? could this be my problem

That is the noise I was talking about.

Replacing the gaskets did nothing for me, when I have the time I'll throw my 96 injectors in and see if it helps. But on my car it is hard to judge becuz it isn't a big issue any more. Now it is more of a rough up and down idle, like if I hit the lights, windows, and AC all at the same time the car will almost die.

mine actually idles better with ac on but with out it bounces up and down til it stalls, my alt charges back and forthastill , on and then no charge.

The motor was recently rebuilt you say.... are you sure the timing is correct? How well does it idle?

I don't think the 96+ injectors have anything to do with fixing the stalling. Just try a different set of injectors. Of the three sets of injectors I've ran, NONE of them caused a stalling problem. I have a feeling that with the age of the car/motor, the injectors can EASILY start to crap out.

I do not know how but maybe the 5-speeds make a difference, I've never heard of an auto doing it before.

it idles perfect and runs awesome but when its picky at a light it jumps and stalls, but i fixed the problem slightloy, i have never heard of bleeding the fuel rail but i got a lot of air outta it and now it idles about 75 percent better only drops in idle, i did nothing else to affect so i this it helped. but it still feels kinda slow

Hmm... maybe its the CPS. Does it stall right when you disengage the clutch?

How is your EGR? Is it throwing any codes? It could be sticking a bit causing the fluctuating idle...
