  • Low end loss

Over the past couple days my low end just flat out died. I have no power at all, then it spikes back to normal stock form at 3k...With all the red lights around here and me having to go half throttle or more just to keep up with traffic is killing my gas money.

The engine died recently when the edge of a flood caught me, but I pushed it out and after letting it dry for 20 minutes she started back up fine...Im assuming this could have something to do with it.

Ide assume ignition, but Im not sumbling or missing or anything...any ideas?

maybe messed up some timing when that happened?? mine was like that when my belt started to go.... although at the time I didn't know what was happening.. thank god under normal instances it isn't an interferance motor. I was too used to my small blocks with timing chains.

Thats exactly what happened when my timing belt tensioner went, causing the belt to slip and go out of time.

          Bad cat?

lightly tap the cat and see if you hear anything rattling around. My guess is the cam timing is now killing low end. GUy on mymonte.com had his cams timed and lost all his low end cause it was set properly for once:P haha, proof that alternate cam timing can be helpful, too bad we dont know what it WAS at before it was timed.

Yeah, the first time we timed the 91, it lost some MPH on that strech of road I used to run down after working on it to see if I had made an improvement. I think it is safe to say that everything would have been retarded, lol.

I poked the cat this morn and no rattle. My friend climbed under and found location of the rattle, a heatshield above the Y pipe in the exhaust came loose, prolly from the water.
