  • Ignition woes; spark arcing to anything around

I spent the most part of today checking my DOHC's ignition system. It seems that when I pull the #6 plug in the dark, almost the whole length of the wire lights up like a x-mas tree. When I pull any other wire, the wires also arc with the block or any grounded source around.

One thing that troubles me is that the #6 plug wire, when pulled, causes more of the arcing around the lower coil portion.

Can anyone shed some light to this? Could this be the cause of my KNOCK RETARD being so high??

of course, if your coils are cracked or damaged that's a possibility!

when attached to the plug they dont leak though...only when pulled. What gives? Can this affect me at high RPM's, say a 1/4 mile run? I got a meet the 16th so I am doing as much as possible to the car.
