Where is the fuel filter on a z34 and how do you replace it?

Under the car, in the center, right in front of the rear tires. It has quick connections on it, but one might need a wrench. I don't remember if both are quick connects or not.

In the middle of the footwell of the rear seats it gets hot right there. Is that normal?

Any place an exhaust pipe runs is going to get hot. That is why there are heat sheilds down there, to keep your fuel lines and carpet in the car intact so your car doesn't L67 itself.

The reason I asked is becuase i think my cat could be pluged isn't it right in that area? Anyway I tried getting my fuel filter off and got the quick connect side off but I can't get the otherside off! It really pissed me off! I gave up for the night. How does it come off there is a small nut on the line and then a big nut but neither one will turn. I tried as hard as I can to turn either one but can't get it to budge.

            HAHAHAHA

I remember doing mine, and it was also a pita. Clamp the lines so you are not drinking gas, cuz even tho premium is expensive, it still doesn't taste good.

I do not remember the connectors, but it sounds like the ff has a nut attached to it, then the line screws into it. If this be the case, try holding them both with wrenches and turnign the wrenches in the opposite direction of each other. So the small one loose, the big one tight.

Your cat is in the same area, just a few feet forward. It is right under the center consel, you can see the buldges in the floor to fit it.

I finally got it off and got the new one installed. The old one looked like it was the original filter.. not good.

I had to rework my fuel lines mine were siezed beyond belief.

I also applied thread sealer and coated the nut all over with hightemp paint to seal in the treads and sealing surfaces from salt corrosion.

I don't think GM uses anti-sieze on anything.

My situation is kinda funny. I have the 92 for the nice weather, and the 91 for the winter. I didn't intend it to be this way, but lets just say Saturns have a funny way of making their way under Z34's easily

I got rear ended by one in the 91, getting me the money for the 92. The only thing that stopped her car from going under my car more is my rear drivers side tire, hell, both rear tires were off the ground, and her windshield was about a foot from my rear bumper. I wanted to go to the house and get a camera so I could take a pic before the tow truck lifted my car off of her car (it happened right in front of my parK) but the cop was a prick.

EDIT: It would have made a good sig pic, lol.
