The clamp pliers are called pincers and can be bought at any hardware or farm supply store. (Farmers use them to castrate baby hams) Or you can buy the "clamp tool" (basically the same thing, only more expensive.) And as previously mentioned, the clamps are available in any size you need and most are adjustable with a slip/lock system. You have never seen a Zip Tie? aka: wire tie? They really do work. Like I said, I went to Moog front-end school and this was a recomended fix if you did not have clamps available. Had to edit this...Craftsman Rocks!! The tool doesn't even have to be broken to exchange it! Open at the mall, 10 minutes away, 7 days a week! Ever snap a socket on Sunday morning? Call your Snap-On dealer at that time! HA! You will be SOOL!!! And the Craftsman "Professional Series" boxes are freakin' awesome!!If you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.

BTW, I found out that the Thorsen (sp?) tools at Advance Auto are pretty damn good quality tools too. Pricey, but then so are Craftsman.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

Most all of the boot kits I have seen used Zip Ties now that I think about it. So if they were a bad thing, I don't see a company selling them with the boots.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

omg i just re-greased and installed the boots. it took an act of god and a small straight screwdriver to install them. i was defeated in shame by the band clamps. what kind of zip ties are you guys talking about? the large plastic ones you get from an auto parts store?
I figure i can put the plastic zip ties on and drive it somewhere to have it professionally done. The Official Rotating Mass Nazi

You already posted your band clamps were too small. Failure was inevitable. If you have to use a screwdriver to install. Lot of wasted time and effort. I am searching for a site to help. Give me a little time.. That's enough! http://www.diynet.com/diy/ab_suspens...277533,00.htmlIf you are driving a Chevy, everything else, is just a blur. 3.4 Carbon Footprint.
