  • Upgrading the 91-93 3.4 DOHC to 94-95

    Hi,

I've a new 91-93 3.4 DOHC engine manufactured in 1997 with the 94-95 camshaft equiped with the relucter surfaces for sensor interfacing. I will be instaling the camshaft position sensor over the flat surface portion on the LH cam carrier. I'll need drill a hole in the exact position in which the sensor is suposed to be.

Any tips and helps will be apreciated previous to this delicated labour.

    Thanks in advance,

    Denis V.

i would have a machine shop doit unless your are a confedent driller... I have heard a few guys on here talking about doing it but not heard if they did it or just ran a used 94+ cam carrior.

      Hmm. Good point.

Main difference with the machine shop is that they uses a "fixed on table" drill. I could use a "hand supported" drill only with its hand movement risk on driller process. I will think about.

(The harmonic balancer will be replaced too and a 24x crank sensor will be installed in the front cover by drilling 2 littles holes for CPS bolts).

      Thanks,
