i just got done replacing the t-belt on my gtp, but obviously the timing marks aren't very accurate. i need to know how to accurately find top dead center, or where to look with the mark on the harmonic balancer. i used the right tools, and have helped ben/jon do this 3x's so i know what i'm doing, i'm just not sure how to get the precision that i need. the car is running now, but won't go over 4k rpms. please help, thanx in advance.

nevermind, it seems i was a jackass and align the mark on the harmonic balancer in the wrong spot. i'll try it again tomorrow and post the results, i can't believe the damn thing even started. i guess i can chock this one up as practice, but a real kick in the head as well. i'm just glad i realized my mistake.93 Z34 Auto (old, dead, slow, in peices)

yeah, i spent the 200 bux and ordered the tools off the internet, thanx. anyway, i got it reset today, and it's running near perfect. well in neutral at least. but when its in gear and i punch the gas the car starts to shake pretty hard like i was repeatedly dropping the clutch or something. i think one of the plug wires might be loose, but it isn't nearly as bad in gear. btw, try driving a BMW with 5spd for a month then getting in a 3.4 w/5spd, our cars are shit in the smoothness comparison. i can't even feel the clutch in this car compared to the gf beamer. i'll drive it for a few more days and see if it lives through them. i think this one might turn into an even bigger money pit than the last one.93 Z34 Auto (old, dead, slow, in peices)
