More twists is better, so as long as you twisted at least the minimum, that won't be the issue. The other issue is actually being able to solder the wires, as the CPS uses a non-standard wire type. Many people have stated before that its difficult (although not impossible) to solder to them. If you just used crimp connectors, well... Remember, this is probably the #1 most important sensor in the engine, as everything revolves around its signal. If you are not properly getting the signal from the sensor to the ICM, then you are going to have issues.

Crimps also leaves a portion of it untwisted. The twists are important because they help reject noise and interference. This is why networking cable is twisted.

Interesting, especially since I told you to check the wiring - 13 days ago. Glad its working now though.

we did but the wires werent fully worn through untill all the working on them finally broke them all the way through we found the short in the harness and is was right where the harness came into the junction for the main harness along the bottom frame rail cuz our original resistance readkings through the wires was only .4 ohms and then we rechecked them today and it was ol

If you have access to an Oscilloscope you should put one lead right at the sensor and the other at the other end of the CPS harness and rev the engine up. I guarantee your CPS signal is way off in the upper RPM's.

But hey, it runs at least.

First you should make a post over in the pushrod section.

The sensor gap IS not adjustable. You realy feel you need to adjust the sensor gap then you need a new engine.
