So it looks as if i may be doing HG's on the MC finally. What has everyone had the best luck with, OEM, Felpro, other ?
Another questions, when idling for example in drive threw if its a long wait (2 min) it will start smoking out the exhaust like 007 James bond style smoke screen... HG's or you think it may be something deeper? the car did sit for like 2 years without startup so i need to figure out if its HG's, Rings or Valve seals or what. Everyone says its the turbo but i don't think it is, doesnt smoke much under hard boost and when i power braked it once the WG opened and smoke was pouring out the Wastegate dump.. so that tells me pre-turbo. the HG's have some crust under them if you look up from under the lift and there is oil dripping down the whole front of the motor and some coolant along with it. I don't wanna put HG's on if the rings are toast if you know what i mean
what are your thoughts?
