  • rpm drops before goin up?

anybody has a clue on what could cause this, when i press the gas, in park neutral, or drive my rpm first drops a lil then goes up, it drops just a lil; like 200 rpm prolly, but its still wierd and like half a second off my time and such....

what could cause this problem ? a fucked up computer ? cz my car sometimes doesnt start if i dont disconnect the battery for 10 seconds....

My car does this too, my guess is that its heatsoak. (when the engine gets really warm after sitting for a while) But, I honestly have no idea what REALLY causes it. Im very curious on this too, so if anyone has any input, it would be appreciated.

Might be just the nature of the beast. Just as long as it doesn't do it in gear, just stall in general. One particular thing I remeber on my old car is that when you started it after it driving then letting it sit for an hour or so, the idle would be odd, kinda run funny, but then clear up. my car wasn't the only one. I guess that was a just a Gen 2 thing.

i'll check if its in motion too, but i know it does it from stop when i'm in drive. some people over at v6z24 say it might be an oxygen sensor so i'll try and replace that and tell you guys how it goes.

If it does it from a stop, I really bet its your TPS. Mine did the same thing. I got a new TPS, problem solved. Stumbling at idle is a tell-tale sign of a bad TPS

check your fuel pressure. it could be tps or o2 sensors, but just check your fuel pressure, i have a feeling it is realated somehow.

The 92 is doing this same thing right now too. Sometimes it looses all power for a second or 4 when I am trying to take off, and almost die. Sometimes it will die though, and it is really pissing me off.
