Yes, she does. She was there when I bought the car. I'm not flushing the trans either...I used wrong terminology. I meant drain the transmission and put new fluid in.

I assumed you were asking her about just changing the fluid,

I find it even more funny that she knew it was a manual.........LOL

When I flushed my auto I disconnected the trans cooler line started it and had others hand me quarts until the fluid ran clear then shut it off. worked great for the full fluid change.

that is pretty much how our machines work. they are connected to the cooler lines any side and gets placed inline. the machine has two tanks one for new and one for old fluid. it also has a air lines that needs to have 90psi give or take and hardly any flow. the machine matches the pressure in the system and exchanges fluid. it is cool because you can see the pressures with the quages on top. some vehicles supprise you. And see the fluid difference in the two containers. ill get some pics next time i work.

Yeah, I can't believe how serious she was...she was looking at me like I was retarded when I said i was going to change the fluid in the tranny. LoL! I know that autos are more complex than manuals, and in the back of my mind I was thinking that she was meaning for autos, but she knows damn well that it's a 5-speed...that's the only reason I bought the car!

As long as you dropped the pan and changed the filter first, that's a wonderful way to do it; and it does not require a zillion-dollar "machine". Assure that you're removing the tube that RETURNS the cooled fluid from the cooler to the trans--and you've flushed the trans cooler also.

It does require some thought process...which is why they sell a lot of zillion-dollar "machines".

Yup, I changed the filter a month prior. Then I wanted to do a full flush, so I got around to a guys place that had a line that screwed into the cooler in the radiator with a hose on it, so I could run that to a bucket, while another person poured fluid and I shut it off when it ran clear. You really do need several people for this procedure. You have to pour the quarts fast too!

that's near identical to the method suggested in the Motor Oil Bible... and something i'll try the next time i'm doing tranny work. it's suggested to have 3 people, but 2 will work with a slight change...

I do it by myself. This does not make me Superman, it just means that I can tolerate the potential for some slight additional spillage.

Pre-fill the trans with fluid. Arrange the drain pan and the tube used to direct the fluid into the pan. Open a bunch of bottles of ATF, and insert the funnel.

Start the engine by leaning through the window, when it runs, start adding the bottles of ATF. Watch the expelled fluid for color/condition--and when it turns nice cherry red--shut off the engine, re-connect the original tubing, and top off the trans as required.
