Every T Stat I ever ran, the car ran an indicated 5-15 degrees Fahrenheit hotter than the advertised rated temp of the actual T Stat.

i swapped it out last night... my intake manifold was all open so no chance of keeping it sealed... it pissed out a bit, but i got the other one jammed in there pretty quick. i got the pan lined up pretty well, didn't get to much on the floor.

The connector on the new one doesn't feel like it clips in but it looks like its plugged in.. i guess i will find out if its the right one or not when she is all back together.

If you are worried about it coming apart, I usually squirt some sillycone around the weather seal in plugs that have the clippy-doo thing broken off of them. Have yet to have one come unplugged that way, too.
