  • Adding coolant

This may seem like a stupid question, but is there a special method to adding antifreeze to a 3.4L DOHC? Just asking because of the sticker under the hood that claims that there is a special procedure and to refer to you owners manual (which I don't have).

    Thanks in advance.

fill the rad up the to of the filler neck, then fill the covery tank to the full mark.
then start and run it till the upper rad hose getting hot, add more mixed coolant to the rad till it gets to the top of the filler again cap it and go

if you want you can bleed it here too. the two little screws, one by your brake booster and one more closer to your thermostat.

while its running and hot, just open them till coolant shoots out instead of steam or spitting a little bit of water and steam. ALL coolant! lol

to burp it it helps to rev and let it drop down again suddenly, this pushes the coolant around harder some how and makes the air go upwards, from what i hear.

Thank you sir! I figured as much, only I would have let it run first before adding any fluid (to get it circulating with no need to bleed). Suppose that'd work too.

      Thanks again.

yeah thats what i would do too. and how i did it. but let it bleed the air out, you'll be surprised. i think its a 9/32" to turn it, and dont over tighten!! it takes like 1ft/lb to close it!
