I am trying to get the old waterpump out but its not enough clearance to get it out, what do I have to do?

No, you shouldn't have to. That black box (if mounted to the fender) is your ECM (or PCM depending on the year and if it has "fins"). You can move that out of the way for now if that will give you some room to get the water pump out.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.
