  • Question : Performance Clutches

What kind of performance clutch should I get? Where can I get a performance clutch at? Haven't found one on ACT or Centerforce.

Spec might have one. Centerforce should have some, I saw them years ago (for $700). I think when I do my engine transplant in the spring, I am going to see if I can't get a local place (South Bend Clutch) to build me one.

If you're going to drive your car on the street at all, don't do a performance clutch upgrade unless you absolutely have to. You'll hate it.

certain ones aren't bad, but a LOT of them do chatter whenever you're not at WOT.... but thats easily fixed...

The clutch in my Ranger is a Centerforce, which is classified as a performance clutch. As far as feel goes vs the stocker, the pressure plate feels stiffer when you push in the clutch. That's it. It actually engages just as nice as a stock clutch would, except it has way better clamping and hasn't slipped an inch on me yet.
