I don't have the PN, but it was a Fel-Pro gasket. Just ask for one for something like an 84 Camaro with a 350.

sweet let me know, i towed a trailer today and it let out 2 liters of oil just driving for 30 mins!!! the trailer wasnt that heavy either... not even for a car, its a single axle 10' long utility trailer with a mattress in it...
never seen my car rev so high while driving normally!! it was like full time race mode! but it didnt really seem to burn too much gas... so far im sittin at 300km out of 3/4 of a tank.

ok, so this is how im going to test my 30 minute oil leak fix... well the plan is to fix it in 30 mins. i have the easiest road ever to the finish line.
the exhaust crossover pipe.
im going to remove it, and through taking it off, im pretty sure you can get to the bolt that holds the retainer down for the distributor cap thinggy. i was in the junkyard and was looking at one that had all the intake on, but someone had removed the cleaner and stuff, and the cross over. and on that one (same year as mine) i could have gotten it cleaned up, removed, pulled up, slipped the gasket around with some right stuff on it, and tightened it up too. but im willing to bet i can have it all done in roughly 30 mins.
well, less than an hour.
any opinions are welcome. let er rip.

Silicone and that gasket is easy, cheap, and works. That's my $.02 and I'm sticking to it since it has yet to fail me. :P
Ninja edit: I was curious and looked up on my wall where I hang my extra gaskets (that's right, you don't want me doing gaskets on your car >). I found one of those gasket kits I was talking about. It's ROL Gaskets, not Fel-Pro, but I looked up the PN that it had a FP- by, and lo and behold, it's a Fel-Pro cross reference number for distributor mounting gaskets.
ROL Gaskets # DM2011
Fel-Pro # 70194

Just be sure to use plenty of brake clean to make SURE that you have really really really really clean mating surfaces with whatever sealer you use or your work is in vain.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

That right stuff HAVE been known to work well on its own. That is only reason I prompted you to try it. I knew about that gasket idea.. Results varied for that one. But with both contraptions, it should lead the way for a future of spewage free lq1's!Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.

but to get it all in there, im leaving the upper and lower intake manifolds on, not taking anything off really other than the breather tube, cleaner box and x-over pipe. simplify man. (hah if i was a hippy im sure a lumina z34 wouldnt be my choice vehicle... where did i leave the keys to my bicycle?)

Also be careful on the type of cleaner you do use.Lifting my front wheels, one jack at a time.

and yes you can pull it up and rotate it. i had to to get the gasket covered with gasket maker in there i stuck it to the stop of the cap, started turning it, while feeding it in with my other hand. it was a tricky job and i used a plastic clip puller to help hold the cap up
when it drops down, its a pain in the ass to pop it back up again with messy fingers.
the best way to clean under it? Pipe cleaners soaked in brake kleen. next to nothing will drip back into the engine, and its also scrubbing it.
then a blast with the air line and you should be ready to start sealing it up
dont forget to clean the top surface before you start!! lol
now... alot of people will tell you to take off all sorts of shit to get this done. like i said before, i did it by taking off the breather tube, and the crossover pipe. not much else.
like i seriously took off less nuts and bolts than i have fingers. hahaha it took me about an hour and a half if i remember correctly and i didnt have any help. just me myself and i. oh and some air tools, lots of extensions and a knuckle to help get the crossover out of the way.
air ratchets FTW
