What I could suggest is for you to go to the local parts store and by the product called, "The Right Stuff" . It's like RTV. Now what you will need to do is prep the mating surfaces really well and lift the Distrib. "cap" up as much as possible and goop that product up in there. Then firmly press down on the cap and hold it there in place for a minute or two.

This MIGHT work, worth a try.

You can try jb weld too. It would make a mess though if you ever decided to pull the head and change the o-ring. I was lucky 120k and 18 years and it never leaked a drop. I replaced it when I had he heads off this winter and it was brittle to the point of plastic and snapped apart.

JB weld is not going to bond alloy and steel.

i know its not going to permanently bond the two. im just looking for a good long term fix! thats all it takes to make me happy. so i have to put an Oring on it, have you guys ever heard of anyone using a cork gasket and looping it around there with a slit cut in it to open it up a little? does that work better?

It'll work just as good as the "right stuff" . JB weld will not hold.

I was just guessing when I suggested JB Weld. If the other stuff is proven to work go with that. I did mine the right way!

I usually sandwich a Chevy 350 distributor gasket between some silicone on those plugs and have yet to have one leak yet. BTW, you don't want my 91, it's been rear ended and I blew the 2nd gear syncros trying to catch up to an old Supra that went flying past me. Then again, if you have ever driven a semi and can double clutch, you would do just fine :P

do you have a part # for that gasket? and one from canadian tire should be good enough, right?
