Hello.
Today my car has been acting strange with its electric fans. I own a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, 3.4DOHC. Just yesterday the rubber hose coming from the waterpump area to the metal line around the engine punctured and I replaced that 3 inch hose with a new one myself. A month before I blew a waterpump and had it replaced along with the thermostat. Now when my hose broke my coolant dropped alot of course and the idiot gauge came on in the drivethru and got "3/4 the way" to Red. I forgot all about it obviously. Anyways I filled it up and since then my fans have been taking awhile to activate. It will wait till its over half before the fans will even turn on, like almost to the 3/4 mark. Then whats even more weird is the fans stay on after I turn the car off, sometimes for more than like 2 minutes. I am no mechanic, but do have a little more than basic car knowledge, and I'm sure this is not normal. It has never done this before either. I have learned alot with the dreaded motor since owning the car, and this just seems to be another headache. Also my EGR vaccum line is removed and capped off if that makes any difference. So basically I'm asking if anyone has some feedback or ideas as to why they are acting strange.
Thanks, mike.
