HELP my car died

I was driving tonight on the way back to college. I'm goin like 70 on the highway and my motor shuts off and all my lights go out, so its raining and i'm doin like 70 in the dark with no lights tryin to see and almost go off the road into the ditch...so anyways

i checked all the fuses and they all were fine, i turn the key no power to anything , no radio no headlights, no nothing, yet my cig lighter still works for my radar detector, the mirror lights work if u turn them on manually but not when the door opens, my 4 ways and hood and trunk lights all work, has a new alternator in it and battery seems like its fine, as of now its sitting on the side of the road so if anyone has any idea on what you think may be wrong???

I work at a napa so i'm not like some idiot but i honestly have no idea what is wrong with this thing. i'm thinking maybe like bad ignition switch or something along that lines but i dont understand why even my courtesy lights dont come on when the door opens...

Driving in the rain eh? Electrical problem eh? Coincedence....maybe. Their could have been an electrical relay box that got wet just right. Compressed air and WD-40 will be your best bet. Spray and blow-dry anything you may suspect. That's all I can think of. Hope that helps.

Sounds like you might be suffering from a fusible link problem... I don't know where they are on these cars, so I'll let someone else tell ya. My guess is it's real close to the battery.
